Foundation Financial Group Supports Be The Match Foundation

Foundation Financial Group Supports Be The Match FoundationDallas, Texas – Foundation Financial Group employees at the Dallas, Texas Regional Sales Center located at 1903 Central Drive, Suite 201, participated in the Be the Match Foundation’s Be The One Run. The employees ran in the event and made a monetary donation.

“Over 70 percent of people diagnosed with blood cancers do not have a donor in their family,” said Foundation Financial Group Event Coordinator Andrew Postell. “They rely on the Be The Match Registry to find a match to save their lives, which comes down to chance. We believe it’s important to raise both funds and awareness for the Be The Match Foundation so that cancer success statistics increase and we beat this horrible disease.

Be The One Run is a walk and run event for people of all ages and fitness levels. It includes a 5K, a 1K and a short-distance Tot Trot. Be The One Run unites communities nationwide determined to help patients with diseases like leukemia and lymphoma. Every step participants take helps patients receive the marrow transplant they need. The Be The One Run raises funds to support transplant research, help patients with uninsured costs, and grow the Be The Match marrow donor registry.

The Be The Match Foundation raises funds and awareness to help all cancer patients in need of a bone marrow donor receive the marrow or cord blood transplant they need, when they need it. Every year 10,000 patients with leukemia, lymphoma and 70 other life-threatening illnesses need a marrow transplant but have no donor match in their family. They depend on Be The Match to help them find an unrelated donor and receive the transplant they need.

“I’m so proud to be able to support this cause,” continued Postell. “Many of us have to work; we have bills, families, needs, wants, etc.  But when you work at a company and you can go home feeling proud about the work that you accomplished then it turns into something else besides just a paycheck.  You can go home and tell your friends and family how you helped someone, genuine help. Not only do you feel proud and gratified but so does your family. No amount of money can measure that emotion. We had a blast participating in the Be The One Run and we cannot wait for the next event.”

Kennetic Productions Announced its Participation at One Spark

Jacksonville, Florida – Kennetic Productions, Northeast Florida’s premier videographer, located at 1 South Laura Street, Suite 1400 in Jacksonville, Florida, announced that the company will create the Official One Spark Documentary film. One Spark, the world’s crowdfunding festival, is a five day event that will take place April 17 – 21, 2013.

One Spark, Inc. is a non-profit committed to fostering environments of innovation by being a catalyst to grow creative communities. The One Spark signature event anticipates attracting artists, entrepreneurs and innovators from around the world to Jacksonville, Florida. The event will be an interactive experience that allows attendees to support ideas and projects that inspire them.

“We are extremely excited to be part of such a cutting edge event,” said Vice President of Media Chris Kennelly. “One Spark is going to be bigger than the Super Bowl was for Jacksonville.  The absolute most creative people from the whole planet will be here seeing what Jacksonville has to offer.  And it’s not just that a bunch of creatives will be here, but that they’ll be mingling with JAX big business. Those worlds coming together is something very special and we are here to tell that story.”

Kennetic Productions Creative Director Tony Sarte is directing the documentary. “It’s not just about how One Spark will affect Jacksonville, but how it will affect the world,” said Sarte. “The story really is about humanity coming together.”

Kennetic Productions plans to incorporate footage from groups of volunteers called “Media Moguls” into the documentary. “This fits well with the organic feel of One Spark,” continued Sarte. “It will be really cool to see footage from upwards of 20 different volunteers find its way into this piece. Overall the documentary will have diverse elements with an innovative edge.”

Artists, entrepreneurs, and innovators alike will display projects in a 1.5 mile radius, multi-venue gallery in downtown Jacksonville. One Spark is a belief that game-changers emerge from dorm rooms, garages, and small studios. It’s the community behind great ideas. It’s the chance to submit and decide on the next big thing. It’s the opportunity to get involved, be inspired, connect and collaborate.

Creators from all over the world will showcase ideas and projects to be voted on for a $250,000 crowdfund, $1 million in capital investments, and immediate individual contributions; all via live, onsite voting. Creators that win votes snag a slice of the $250,000 guaranteed crowdfund. Crowdfund monies will be distributed by popular vote. If a creator receives 10 percent of the vote, they would receive 10 percent of the total fund or $25,000.

“One Spark is going to be nuts, period,” continued Kennelly. “Kennetic functions well in organized chaos while keeping our eye on the message. We couldn’t be more excited to be working with the amazing team at One Spark to capture the heart and mission behind it all.”

One Spark, Inc. is a nonprofit organization working to foster an environment of innovation. It was created in 2011 by three friends (Elton Rivas, Dennis Eusebio, and Varick Rosete) who wanted to connect ideas with resources. Despite its name, there was no single “spark” that inspired the nonprofit, but rather a number of small coffee shop conversations that blew up into something big. One Spark’s mission is to connect great ideas with the resources they need in order to get implemented, listen to and support the development of innovative community, and share success stories and lessons with communities that face similar challenges.

“The story of One Spark has been humbling, inspiring and even a bit magical,” said One Spark Co-Founder and Executive Director, Elton Rivas. “We’re excited to be working with Kennetic Productions on this project and can’t wait to share it with the world.”

“The world is busting at the seams with hungry, talented creative,” said Kennelly. “Every city wants that creative groundswell in their communities. Jacksonville has it. They are the center of it. We are leading the charge. Want to do something that matters? Something that will leave a mark on this world? Jacksonville is where it is at.”

Foundation Financial Group Presents Ross Q4 Diamond Award

Foundation Financial Group Presents Ross Q4 Diamond AwardRochester, New York – Foundation Financial Group employees and executives from across the nation awarded the Timothy Brosier Diamond Award for outstanding service during the fourth quarter of 2012 to Lisa Ross.

Ross, a graduate of Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, New York, is an Assistant Vice President of Underwriting at Foundation Financial Group’s Rochester Regional Sales Center, located at 1 South Washington Street, Floor 3. For her prize, Ross selected a pair of customized snow skis.  She will also receive a crystal diamond statue, compliments of Foundation Financial Group.

Each quarter, Foundation Financial Group honors one of its employees for outstanding service and for going beyond the call of duty while maintaining a positive attitude. Foundation Financial employees nominate their fellow colleagues for the Timothy Brosier Diamond Award each quarter, and the FFG executive team then reviews all nominations and selects one winner.

Foundation Financial Group Launched Q2 National Philanthropic Initiative, FFG Ends Lupus

Foundation Financial Group Launched Q2 National Philanthropic Initiative, FFG Ends LupusAtlanta, Georgia – Foundation Financial Group has announced its participation in the 7th annual Walk to End Lupus Now event on Saturday, April 27th, at Piedmont Park in Atlanta, GA.

The Atlanta walk is the largest Lupus Foundation of America walk in the nation with over 8,000 supporters descending on Piedmont Park to raise funds and awareness for those with Lupus and the Lupus Foundation of America’s research and development programs. Based on the enormity and prevalence of Lupus, which affects over 1.5 million Americans, mostly young women, ages 18 to 50, and minorities – a direct reflection of Foundation Financial’s employee demographic, the company has committed its national philanthropic focus to the FFG Ends Lupus Initiative. All funds raised through this initiative will benefit the Lupus Foundation of America’s Georgia Chapter.

“Millions of people suffer with Lupus and that also includes employees of the FFG Family,” said Foundation Financial Event Coordinator Crystal Glen. “This is a cause that hits very close to home for us and we want to do everything in our power to raise funds and awareness for the End Lupus Now cause.”

Through the Atlanta walk, ninety percent of every dollar donated stays in Georgia ensuring the Georgia Chapter of the Lupus Foundation of America continues to provide and expand the only valuable and free statewide educational programs, advocacy and awareness efforts, including nine Lupus symposiums and new support groups across Georgia. The Chapter is a lifeline and a voice of hope raising awareness and fighting for families affected by Lupus. The chapter also supports national research efforts; funding and advocating for investment in Lupus. Ten years ago, no one spoke of Lupus, there was little awareness and understanding of the signs and symptoms and very little investment in research. The Lupus Foundation of America has paved the way for those suffering from Lupus and today they have a voice.

“I am extremely excited about supporting the Lupus Foundation of America,” continued Glen. “We have experienced great success with our past initiatives and I know we can continue to do a lot of good. We have a great group of people here at FFG that truly care and want to make a difference. It’s really amazing to be a part of such a great team.”

FFG Ends Lupus event coordinators have organized an external donation page where anyone who feels compelled to help may do so. The company is also accepting donations internally from employees. “We always have fun with our philanthropic initiatives,” said Glen. “To put a fun spin and encourage internal donations for the FFG Ends Lupus campaign, we have organized a group of employees who will perform singing telegrams to FFG offices across the country in return for donations made.”

Foundation Financial Group Supports Cherry Creek Academy

Foundation Financial Group Supports Cherry Creek AcademyDenver, Colorado – Foundation Financial Group announced its recent participation in the Cherry Creek Academy PTO Sale. Employees from the company’s Denver branch, located at 6460 East Yale Avenue, Suite E70 supported the PTO by selling water bottles, tee shirts, reusable grocery bags and trinkets and by making a monetary donation. Over $8,500 was raised to benefit the Academy.

“It is so important that we support the school system, especially charter schools because they are under staffed and underfunded,” said FFG Event Coordinator Kim Vigil. “The PTO sponsors events for students and raises money to help the school with important supplies such as Smart Boards, computers, and other necessities. They needed help and we believe that supporting education is a very important aspect of being a citizen. The amount we raised is enough to buy three Smart Boards or outfit seven classrooms with new supplies for an entire year. I love working for a company that supports the communities we work and live in. If it’s important to the staff then it’s important to FFG and that makes us a better company in the community.”

Cherry Creek Academy’s mission is “motivated children and responsible parents working together with dedicated teachers for excellent education.” The academy was started in 19995 by a group of parents from throughout the district. Their goals were to provide a higher quality education using “core values” such as Core Knowledge curriculum, phonics, letter grades, textbooks, strong discipline, Character Education, uniforms and extensive parent involvement. Classes began in September 1995 with a full enrollment in grades K-6. Cherry Creek Academy has matured into a stable, high quality K-8 educational institution and will continue to be one of the leading schools in the charter school movement.
